Manipulate pillar

Do candidate EV cargo programs change recipient-cell state under controlled conditions?

Causal testing, cytosolic-delivery evidence, and engineered EV-mimics.

Association is a starting point

A progression-associated signal is not automatically causal. Manipulate introduces explicit functional gates: cargo uptake, cytosolic delivery, downstream pathway engagement, and recipient-cell response.

Engineered EV-mimics as experiments

Fusogenic EV-mimics offer a controllable way to test candidate cargo programs and their requirements for functional transfer. This is preclinical mechanism work—not a claim of a ready therapeutic.

Functional gates make the causal claim harder

A convincing result requires more than recipient-cell exposure. The experimental plan separates vesicle association from intracellular delivery, then tests whether the proposed regulatory machinery engages and whether the downstream state change reproduces across controlled conditions.

Engineered extracellular vesicle mimics delivering a defined cargo to a recipient neural cell.
Preclinical mechanism schematicManipulate turns an association into a controlled question: can a defined cargo be delivered, engage the proposed machinery, and produce a reproducible recipient-cell response?
